As part of its long-standing commitment to empower educators with opportunity, Bank Nizwa sponsored and participated in a career development program designed to enhance the skillsets of teachers. Held under the patronage of Mr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al Salmi, General Manager in the Directorate General of Education, Governorate of Dakhiliyah, the event was organized by Union of Izki Schools at University of Nizwa. The program was also attended by a delegation from the Directorate, as well as 350 educators from across Oman.
As part of its participation, Bank Nizwa delivered a special presentation on Islamic finance conducted by Sheikh Ibrahim Al Sawafi, a member of its Shari’a Supervisory Board. The interactive session highlighted the definition of Shari’a-compliant banking, differences between Islamic and conventional banking, in addition to challenging misconceptions of the Islamic finance sector.
Mr. Khalid Al Kayed, Acting CEO of Bank Nizwa, said, “Teachers play an important role in the development of society and it is essential that we do all we can to foster their professional growth. Today’s event reflects that commitment and we are proud to play a part in bringing hundreds of educators closer to achieving their aspirations.”
Bank Nizwa has continuously strived to foster the growth of local communities in Oman through a large number of professional, educational and social events tailored to their needs. Its many initiatives include celebrations honoring 500 teachers in the Wilayat of Sohar and events designed to spur entrepreneurial growth such as the recently held first Oman Franchise Expo and Conference.
