Bank Nizwa continued to invest in Omani experts of the Islamic finance sector after two of the bank’s senior managers successfully completed participation at the 4th edition of the Cambridge Islamic Finance Leadership Programme. Representing Oman at the global high profile event were the bank’s Head of Operations, Zahir Al Saqri, and Acting Chief Financial Officer, Salim Al Maharbi with the latter receiving the Cambridge Islamic Finance Leadership Award for exceptional and comprehensive performance during the five-day programme. Founded in 2013 to contribute to global efforts to develop leaders in Islamic banking and finance, the programme saw participation of academicians, CEOs of Islamic financial institutions, Shari’a advisors and business leaders.

Commenting on the participation in the programme, Khalid Al Kayed, CEO of Bank Nizwa said, “We believe in the power of expertise and its positive impact on not only the Islamic finance sector but the entire societal and economic growth of Oman.
